Application Questions for the CSG 2018 Henry Toll Fellowship Program

Please answer the four questions below and include the responses with the rest of your application materials. These questions are designed to help the Toll Fellow selection committee better evaluate applicants. Answers to each question should be 250 words or less and typewritten.

  1. A leader possesses many values, traits and characteristics. Pick one trait that you think is essential and share a specific example of how it contributed to the results you have achieved as leader.
  2. The CSG Toll Fellowship brings together a diverse class of outstanding, rising leaders from all three branches of government and every region of the country. What do you hope to learn from your classmates? Why is it important to spend time working in a group of very diverse individuals who are all leaders in their respective communities?
  3. The CSG Toll Fellowship is not a traditional professional skills development or policy course; the sessions are active, very hands on and focus on the thoughts, feelings and experiences that shape you as a leader and as a person. It requires significant time away from family, work and constituents. At times, you may find yourself tired and frustrated. What do you hope to learn about yourself as a leader from this type of experience?
  4. In 20 words or less, why do you want to be a CSG Toll Fellow?
